Italy's Pelati and Ruggiero earn silver and bronze in artistic swimming at 2026 European Championships

At the 2026 European Aquatics Championships held in Saint‑Denis, France, Italian artistic swimmers Filippo Pelati and Lucrezia Ruggiero secured two podium finishes. They won the silver medal in the mixed technical duet with a score of 229.0092 points, just six tenths behind the British duo of Isabelle Thorpe and Ranjuo Tomblin, who took gold. In the mixed free duet, Pelati and Ruggiero earned bronze with 255.1641 points, finishing behind the British gold‑medallists and the Spanish pair.

These results give Italy its fourth medal at the championships, adding to a recent gold in the team diving event and an earlier silver and bronze earned by the same athletes in other artistic‑swimming categories. Ruggiero said the team felt "really good in the water" and was satisfied with their performance, while Pelati noted the routine was built in just a few days and praised their artistic impression.
