Italy's 'Piano Casa' law signed, Siracusa housing institute prepares rollout

The Italian government, led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, has approved the permanent "Piano Casa" law, a major step for national housing policy. The legislation shifts the focus from describing a housing emergency to a programmatic approach that enables planning, public‑asset renewal and neighbourhood regeneration. Alessia Scorpo, president of the Istituto Autonomo Case Popolari (IACP) of Siracusa, said the institute will use the new tools to accelerate projects, tap strategic funding calls and implement energy‑efficiency upgrades under Measure M7. IACP plans to work closely with the government, regional authorities and municipalities to translate the law into concrete interventions that improve living conditions for thousands of families.

The law is presented as a concrete opportunity to move from words to projects, construction sites and better quality of life for both residents and their districts.
