Agenzia delle Entrate‑Riscossione launches online service for Rottamazione quinquies
The Agenzia delle Entrate‑Riscossione has activated an online service that lets taxpayers obtain a copy of the “Comunicazione delle somme dovute” for the Rottamazione‑quinquies tax‑debt‑relief scheme without needing SPID or CIE credentials. Users submit their tax‑code, an identity document and an e‑mail address on the public portal www.agenziaentrateriscossione.gov.it; the service was introduced to help those who applied through the public area and did not receive the document via the reserved area. The first or sole payment installment for the reduced‑interest, reduced‑penalty settlement is due by 31 July 2026 and covers debts accrued between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2023, such as unpaid taxes, missed INPS contributions and road‑code fines.
Several Italian municipalities have debated or approved joining the programme. The council of Reggio Emilia approved the measure on 6 July, estimating about €1.4 million in new revenue from roughly €42 million of old road‑fine credits. Similar discussions are under way in Marsala, Roccadaspide, Marmirolo and other towns, with opposition groups urging faster adoption to ease the burden on families and businesses. The scheme allows payment of the principal amount only; interest, penalties and other surcharges are waived, and taxpayers may choose a single payment or up to 54 installments.
The service also provides a way to request a replacement copy of the communication if the original is lost, maintaining the same simple three‑step process. By simplifying access to the required documents, the agency aims to increase compliance and recover otherwise difficult‑to‑collect revenue for both the state and local authorities.
