Italy's Summer Theatre Festivals Feature Cristina Mazzaccaro and Peppe Barra

The Barbuti Festival in Salerno opened its 41st edition on 7 August 2026. Singer‑songwriter Cristina Mazzaccaro performed her show “Di voce e di vento”, accompanied by pianist Lucio D’Amato and narrators Brunella Caputo and Davide Curzio. The program blended classic Neapolitan songs, South‑American pieces and Sicilian folk tunes, and included poetry recitations.

Four days later, on 11 August 2026, the open‑air theatre of Santa Croce del Sannio hosted the ScenAria festival. Actor Peppe Barra paid tribute to poet‑playwright Enzo Moscato, performing the piece “Spiritilli” with singers Lalla Esposito and Giuseppe Affinito. The event highlighted Moscato’s dramatic works and was organized by the Casa del Contemporaneo under the direction of Claudio Affinito.
