Italy's Ministry of Education extends mini‑call deadline for support‑teacher recruitment

The Italian Ministry of Education and Merit announced a one‑day extension for the “mini call veloce” application window for first‑tier support‑teacher (GPS) positions for the 2026/27 school year. Applications can now be submitted from 14 August at 14:00 until 19 August at 12:00, instead of the previously set 18 August deadline.

The change follows the closure of the ordinary recruitment phase on 31 July, after which the extraordinary phase will run until 13 August. The ministry also released the first recruitment bulletins, starting with Tuscany, which listed 37 available primary‑school support positions across several provinces.

The mini call veloce allows teachers who have completed the provincial phase without a contract to compete for remaining vacancies in other provinces of the same region. The updated timeline aims to accommodate the completion of preceding recruitment steps and ensure the allocation of any residual support‑teacher posts.
