Italy's Tax Agency updates collaborative compliance guidelines
The Italian Revenue Agency, through a director's provision signed by Vincenzo Carbone, issued updated instructions for the collaborative compliance regime (Regime di adempimento collaborativo). The new guidance expands the existing line‑up of the Tax Control Framework, directing firms on how to map fiscal risks arising from accounting principles, specifically covering the accounting treatment of crypto‑currencies and the exclusive‑use right of infrastructure.
The instructions result from a technical work‑table that includes representatives of the Revenue Agency and the Italian Accounting Organization (OIC). They are aimed at enterprises that meet the size thresholds and have a certified system for detecting, measuring, managing and controlling fiscal risk, enabling them to engage in preventive dialogue with the tax authority on complex or uncertain tax matters.
