Italy's Vicepremier Tajani proposes cutting IRPEF to 33% for incomes up to €60,000

Vicepremier and Forza Italia leader Antonio Tajani announced a tax plan aimed at lowering the personal income tax (IRPEF) from 35% to 33% for earnings up to €60,000. The proposal was presented at the party’s regional congress in Grosseto, Tuscany, and includes additional measures such as waiving the vehicle tax, allowing deductions for current‑year health expenses, and tax breaks for young entrepreneurs and employers hiring young workers. Tajani also highlighted incentives for women, including credits for mothers, and suggested using a portion of Italy’s €2 trillion private savings to fund public infrastructure projects like housing and digital networks.

In the same remarks, he pointed to a reduction in irregular migration flows and called for a higher number of regular non‑EU workers under the existing flow decree, emphasizing the need for skilled labour in industry and agriculture.
