Itapema launches social housing program for low-income families
The municipality of Itapema, Santa Catarina, has launched the ‘Programa Casa Itapema’ to provide social housing for low-income families. The initiative has opened registration for 90 residences at the Residencial Campo Verde in the Sertão do Trombudo neighborhood.
These 52-square-meter homes, which include two bedrooms and accessibility adaptations, are part of the ‘Minha Casa, Minha Vida’ program. Monthly installments for the units will range between R$ 80 and R$ 400. To qualify, applicants must reside in Itapema, have a monthly gross income of up to R$ 3,200, and meet specific housing deficit criteria.
In addition to the 90 single-story houses, the local government has begun technical phases for the construction of 1,120 apartments across four residential towers. These larger developments are aimed at families with monthly incomes between R$ 3,200 and R$ 9,600.
