Itapevi and Atibaia achieve high rankings in Brazilian governance and development indices

The Brazilian municipalities of Itapevi and Atibaia have achieved notable recognition in recent regional and national rankings regarding governance and development.

Itapevi secured second place among 13 evaluated municipalities in the 2026 Transparency and Public Governance Index (ITGP), produced by the Observatório Social do Brasil – São Paulo with support from Transparency International – Brasil. Scoring 69.3 points, the city demonstrated significant growth, increasing 17.8 points since 2024. It outperformed the evaluated average of 50.8 points, particularly excelling in administrative governance, digital platforms, and financial transparency.

Atibaia was recognized in a ranking by Revista Veja and Austin Rating, appearing among the top 20 cities in Brazil across seven different indicators. In the category of medium-sized cities, Atibaia ranked 4th in municipal development and 3rd in the business and enterprise indicator. The ranking evaluates cities based on fiscal, economic, social, and digital pillars, analyzing 253 indicators including quality of life, economic health, and technological infrastructure.
