Itapevi and São José do Seridó hold major Catholic pilgrimages

In Itapevi, São Paulo, a traditional mass was held on 21 July to prepare for the town’s 60th Romaria to Pirapora do Bom Jesus. Pilgrims received a blessing, holy‑water sprinkling and a breakfast provided by councilor Yacer Kourani before departing on 25 July. The pilgrimage, organized by the Associação dos Romeiros, marks six decades of the annual religious and cultural procession.

In São José do Seridó, Rio Grande do Norte, the 27th Caravana Ilton Pacheco passed through the city on 21 July, en route to Caicó for the Festa de Sant’Ana. Local officials, including Vice‑Mayor Ricardo Medeiros and councilor Mininim, welcomed the group, which was blessed by parish priest Padre Joaquim José de Oliveira. The 100‑km foot trek starts in Currais Novos and traverses several municipalities, drawing hundreds of faithful participants.
