Itapororoca police investigate fetus found in home freezer

Police in Itapororoca, Paraíba, are investigating the discovery of a fetus found inside a freezer in a local residence. The case involves a 27-year-old woman who sought medical attention at the Mamanguape General Hospital after experiencing pains following a pregnancy of approximately four months.

During her medical consultation, the woman reportedly informed staff that the fetus was being kept in her home freezer. Hospital authorities notified the police due to suspicions of a potential induced abortion. Family members told investigators that the woman had exhibited aggressive behavior and used a narcotic substance the previous day, which resulted in property damage at the residence.

While family members initially believed the pregnancy loss was spontaneous, the Civil Police have launched a formal investigation to determine the exact circumstances. The fetus has been sent to the Scientific Police Institute of Paraíba for a post-mortem examination. The woman remains hospitalized under medical care while authorities await forensic results to proceed with the inquiry.
