ITB Expedition Team launches digital health platform in Papua

The Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) 11 from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has launched lerehfarma.id, a digital platform designed to improve healthcare access in the Yapsi District of Jayapura Regency, Papua.

The initiative aims to address local challenges, including limited medicine supplies at auxiliary health centers (Pustu), poor road access to medical facilities, lack of clean water, and the prevalence of endemic diseases such as malaria, acute respiratory infections (ISPA), and scabies. Through the website, residents can check medicine availability, locate the nearest health facilities, access disease prevention guides, and submit complaints regarding local health services.

Local health workers and residents have welcomed the tool, noting that it prevents unnecessary travel to clinics when supplies are unavailable. Team member Ranif emphasized that local health cadres and youth are expected to disseminate the knowledge gained from the socialization program to ensure the platform's benefits reach the wider community.
