ITE and OHB SE sign space technology cooperation agreement
The Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (ITE) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the German aerospace group OHB SE and its Greek subsidiary, OHB Hellas. The agreement was signed at ITE's facilities in Heraklion, Crete.
OHB SE is a major player in the European space industry, managing an annual budget of approximately 1.3 billion euros and employing nearly 4,000 people. The company recently secured a contract worth nearly 1 billion euros to develop 18 satellite platforms for the European Union's IRIS² Secure Connectivity Programme.
The partnership aims to advance space technologies in Crete and strengthen Greece's position within the broader European space ecosystem, covering sectors such as Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, and data analysis.
