Alicante rolls out high‑tech pool leak repairs and adds new pet‑friendly beaches

In Alicante, the company Telefuga is offering advanced, non‑invasive leak‑detection services for swimming pools. Using tracer gas, geophones, thermal cameras and underwater inspections, the firm can pinpoint the exact source of a leak before any repair work begins, reducing unnecessary construction and preserving the pool’s original condition.

Spanish law also governs communal swimming pools in residential buildings. Under the Horizontal Property Law and national safety regulations, owners must share maintenance costs and comply with strict hygiene and safety standards, including possible lifeguard contracts and water quality controls.

The province is expanding its pet‑friendly beach options. Three beaches now allow dogs: Cala Cabo Peñas in Orihuela, Playa de Agua Amarga in Alicante, and Cala del Rocío in Torrevieja. Visitors must follow rules such as immediate waste collection, microchip registration, and leash or muzzle requirements for certain breeds.
