itel launches Power 80 smartphone in Kenya
itel has launched the Power 80, a 4G smartphone in Kenya, with a primary focus on built-in durability. Priced at a recommended retail price of Ksh 19,499, the device is marketed under the slogan “No Case. Still Tough.”
The smartphone features several international durability certifications, including SGS 5-Star Gold Drop-Proof certification, which tested the device against drops from up to 2 meters. It also meets the MIL-STD-810 military-grade environmental standard and holds both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, the latter of which certifies protection against high-pressure water jets.
To achieve these ratings, the Power 80 utilizes a “Cage Frame Skeleton,” a reinforced internal shock-absorption structure designed to distribute impact energy away from the screen and internal components. The device also includes reinforced corner buffers to prevent the display from making direct contact with hard surfaces during a fall. Additionally, the phone is equipped with a 7,000mAh battery.
