ITESA develops tool to improve workplace wellbeing
The Instituto Tecnológico Superior del Oriente del Estado de Hidalgo (ITESA) has developed a technological tool designed to help companies identify and address psychosocial risk factors. Part of the “Salud Empresarial: aplicación de la NOM-035 en las organizaciones” project, the initiative aims to comply with the NOM-035-STPS-2018 standards to foster healthier work environments.
Developed by the Academic Body of Business Management Engineering in collaboration with Computer Systems Engineering faculty, the project received recognition from the Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM) for its innovation and applicability. During the summer of 2025, the tool underwent pilot testing at a manufacturing company in the Altiplano Hidalguense region, where researchers and students evaluated its functionality and usability in a real-world setting.
The application includes detection instruments and a user guide to facilitate implementation across various workplaces. It is currently registered with the Instituto Nacional del Derecho de Autor (INDAUTOR) to protect its intellectual property and prepare for future technological transfer to the productive sector.
