Ithaca highlighted in Le Figaro special edition on the Odyssey

Le Figaro Hors‑Série has published a 162‑page collectible issue titled “In the Steps of Odysseus”, devoted entirely to the Greek island of Ithaca and the Homeric Odyssey. The edition was created after a press trip that took place from 29 May to 5 June 2026, organized by the French Office of Tourism in partnership with Figaro Histoire editor Michel De Jaeeghere and photographer Sophie Degubernatis. It documents Ithaca’s archaeological sites, museums, natural landmarks and local traditions, presenting the island as a sustainable cultural‑tourism destination for French travelers.

The issue will be printed in 70 000 copies, reaching an estimated 210 000 readers, and is scheduled for release in other French‑speaking markets such as Belgium, Luxembourg and Canada. Its launch coincides with the global premiere of Christopher Nolan’s film “The Odyssey”, further amplifying international interest in the island.
