ITIA suspends two tennis players and a coach for corruption violations

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has issued sanctions against two players and a coach for violations of anti-corruption regulations.

Russian player Mark Kaufman has been suspended for 18 months and fined $5,000. The sanction follows his failure to cooperate with an ITIA investigation into potential corrupt activities, specifically his refusal to allow officials to examine his mobile phone. His suspension is set to expire on June 23, 2027.

Serbian player Luka Todorovic received a nine-week suspension and a $10,000 fine for failing to report knowledge or suspicion of corrupt activity, including a corrupt approach in 2023. His suspension runs from August 19, 2026, to October 21, 2026.

Additionally, Croatian coach Marino Jakic has been provisionally suspended pending a full investigation into potential anti-corruption rule violations dating back to 2023. An independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer upheld the provisional suspension, stating it was “supported by substantial evidence.”
