ITLA and NVIDIA launch AI training program for professors
The Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) has launched a webinar for university professors to introduce the NVIDIA University Ambassador Program. This international network focuses on training educators in artificial intelligence, deep learning, data science, and accelerated computing.
The first cohort includes faculty from ITLA, the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), and the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). These trained instructors are expected to act as knowledge multipliers within their institutions to accelerate digital literacy in the Dominican higher education system.
In the Dominican Republic, the program is coordinated by the Centro de Excelencia en Inteligencia Artificial (CEIA-RD), which is academically led by ITLA. This initiative is part of the National Sovereign Artificial Intelligence Initiative, supported by the Ministry of the Presidency and the Office of Government Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC). The broader project also includes the development of a National Artificial Intelligence Factory and the strengthening of the State Data Center.
