ITLA awards 118 higher education scholarships in Dominican Republic

The Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA) has awarded 118 higher education scholarships during its second 2026 call for applications. The initiative represents an institutional investment of RD$11 million aimed at training youth in high-demand technological fields such as software development, multimedia, and information security.

Academic Vice Rector Fabrizio Cabrera noted that more than 47% of the scholarship recipients are women. This trend highlights an increasing interest among young women in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines to meet the evolving needs of the national labor market.
