ITLA awards 118 higher education scholarships in Dominican Republic

The Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA) has awarded 118 higher education scholarships during its second call of 2026. The initiative involves an institutional investment of RD 11 million aimed at training young people in high-demand technological careers to meet current and future labor market needs.

Academic Vice Rector Fabrizio Cabrera, representing Rector Jimmy Rosario Bernard, noted that over 47% of the scholarship recipients are women. This reflects a growing interest among young women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The program is designed to facilitate entry into strategic academic areas to support the country's technological and productive transformation.
