ITLA launches Tech Camp 2026 for 337 youth across 10 Dominican Republic locations
The Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA) will run the ITLA Tech Camp 2026 simultaneously in ten locations across the Dominican Republic – Santo Domingo, Santiago, Moca, Bonao, San Pedro de Macorís, Nagua, San Francisco de Macorís, Monte Plata, Pedernales and Cotuí – from 27 July to 14 August 2026. A total of 337 children and adolescents will receive scholarships, including 44 minors from homes and residential programs of the Consejo Nacional para la Niñez y la Adolescencia (CONANI). More than 800 applications were received, reflecting strong demand for early‑age technology training.
Participants aged 10‑13 will learn programming with Scratch, creating video games and interactive animations, while those aged 14‑16 will study Python fundamentals, digital tools and safe internet practices. ITLA rector Jimmy Rosario Bernard said the initiative expands access to technology education and strengthens logical thinking, creativity and problem‑solving skills for young people.
