ITLA Rector promotes AI and semiconductor industry cooperation

Jimmy Rosario Bernard, rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA), has been actively engaging in discussions regarding technological advancement and international cooperation. During a meeting hosted by the U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic for International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumni, Rosario Bernard discussed innovation and the future of the semiconductor industry. He emphasized that such forums strengthen ties with the United States and help identify opportunities to boost local research and technological development.

Additionally, at the RD Debate 2026 forum, Rosario Bernard highlighted the strategic importance of artificial intelligence (AI) for the Dominican Republic. He argued that AI is no longer a future concept but a current reality impacting education, employment, and business. He advocated for integrating AI knowledge across all professional disciplines—including health, administration, and public management—to ensure the workforce can use these tools responsibly and productively to meet evolving market demands.
