ITLA wins Engineering award for ProtoScanner 3D technology
The Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA) has been awarded the ‘Project of the Year’ in the Engineering and Technology category at the Project Management Institute Awards 2026, Dominican Republic chapter (PMIRD).
The winning initiative, ProtoScanner 3D, utilizes 3D technology for the design, construction, and development of transtibial and transfemoral prostheses. The award was presented during the XVI International Project Management Congress in Punta Cana.
ITLA Rector Jimmy Rosario Bernard stated that the recognition reinforces the institution's commitment to transforming technological knowledge into social solutions that improve quality of life and foster inclusion for those requiring prosthetics.
