ITS Australia joins AP RUC Alliance to expand regional network
The Asia-Pacific Road User Charging Alliance (AP RUC Alliance) has expanded to seven members following the addition of ITS Australia. The official signing ceremony took place at the ITS World Congress in Gangneung.
With the inclusion of ITS Australia, the alliance now comprises ITS Taiwan, ITS New Zealand, ITS India, ITS Thailand, ITS Malaysia, ITS Singapore, and ITS Australia. The group serves as a regional platform for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) organizations, government agencies, and operators to exchange practical experience and discuss emerging policy and technology trends.
Key areas of focus for the alliance include the evolution of electronic toll collection, multi-lane free-flow tolling, sustainable road funding, and changing mobility patterns. The expansion aims to strengthen the Asia-Pacific voice within the global ITS community, particularly as Taipei prepares to host the ITS World Congress in 2029.
