Ituzaingó hosts Decisión Niñez Zonal Assembly for youth projects

More than 200 children and adolescents aged 8 to 17 participated in the Zonal Assembly of the Decisión Niñez program held at the La Torcaza Sports Center in Ituzaingó. The event brought together participants from six municipalities: Ituzaingó, Hurlingham, Morón, Merlo, Marcos Paz, and General Las Heras.

Decisión Niñez is a program from the Province of Buenos Aires that utilizes participatory budgeting, allowing young people to directly decide the allocation of public resources to improve their communities. During the assembly, 31 initiatives submitted by schools, scout groups, cultural centers, and other community organizations were analyzed. Through a voting process, the participants selected the ten projects that will receive funding for implementation.

The program follows a four-stage process: registration and proposal submission, municipal assemblies, zonal assemblies to select initiatives, and finally, the implementation of the chosen projects. The event was attended by Ituzaingó Mayor Pablo Descalzo, various municipal secretaries, families, and teachers.
