Ituzaingó Mayor Emilio Nicolás requests cabinet resignations

Emilio Nicolás, the mayor of Ituzaingó, has requested the resignation of his entire executive cabinet, including the heads of eight executive secretariats and legal counsel. Nicolás described the move as a “management tool” intended to evaluate the team's performance and reorganize the government structure. He clarified that the request does not automatically result in departures, as he will decide whether to accept or reject the resignations.

The decision follows internal friction within the UCR party, where some officials criticized the administration's progress after eight months in office. In response to these tensions, Nicolás dismissed the Director of Statistics, Néstor Rojoqui. While the mayor noted that those who disagree with the administration's direction are free to leave, he indicated an intention to maintain the majority of the current staff.

Roque Videla, president of the Radical party, stated that the criticisms raised by certain members do not represent the official stance of the party. A meeting of the governing alliance reportedly expressed support for the mayor's administration.
