Ituzaingó to hold commemorative bicycle rides for 50th anniversary of dictatorship
The municipality of Ituzaingó has announced the return of its traditional neighborhood bicycle rides for September and October. This year’s edition, titled ‘Bicicleteada por la Memoria’ (Bicycle Ride for Memory), is centered on commemorating the 50th anniversary of the last civic-military dictatorship.
Under the slogan ‘Florecerán Pañuelos’ (Handkerchiefs Will Bloom), participants—including students, families, and the local community—are invited to carry handkerchiefs decorated with drawings, embroidery, flowers, and phrases. These items are intended to serve as symbols of ‘Memory, Truth, and Justice.’
In addition to the commemorative focus, the initiative aims to promote physical activity and sustainable mobility. The events will include warm-up activities led by municipal instructors and recreational games and raffles for children at the conclusion of the rides. Scheduled routes include neighborhoods such as Procrear, Barrio Nuevo, Udaondo, San Alberto, and Ituzaingó Sur.
