ITV announces I’m A Celebrity spin-off set in Canada

ITV has announced a new spin-off to the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ franchise titled ‘I’m A Celebrity: The Wild Frontier’, set in the Canadian wilderness. Scheduled for a 2027 launch, the series will be hosted by Ant & Dec and features a unique format where celebrities compete in pairs, such as relatives or fellow stars, to undergo trials and challenges.

Filming has reportedly commenced in the Callaghan Valley near Conflict Lake. The production has faced early drama following a bear attack on a female hiker in the local area, which resulted in the hiker being airlifted to a hospital and the death of an adult black bear. In response, the campsite has reportedly implemented ‘lockdown’ measures, including the installation of an electric fence and ‘bear lockers’ for food storage to ensure safety.
