ITV Announces New Crime Drama ‘The Blame’ Starring Michelle Keegan

ITV has released a first‑look for its upcoming six‑part crime drama The Blame, adapted from Charlotte Langley’s novel of the same name. The series follows detectives DI Emma Crane (Michelle Keegan) and DI Tom Radley (Douglas Booth) as they investigate a tragic death in the fictional town of Wakestead, uncovering a web of lies, institutional cover‑ups and systemic corruption.

Executive producer Megan Gallagher and series producer Matt Strevens lead the production, with co‑producer Sara Huxley and directors Bex Rycroft (episodes 1‑3) and Claire Tailyour (episodes 4‑6). The cast also includes Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Nigel Boyle and several other actors portraying members of the town’s police force. ITV plans to broadcast the drama in the autumn of 2026.

The network promoted the show as “a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny.”
