ITV launches celebrity challenge series The Box

ITV is launching its new entertainment series, The Box, hosted by Gary Lineker. The show features ten celebrity contestants, including Joey Essex, former Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow, and Graeme Souness, who are placed in yellow boxes and transported to mystery locations to complete physical, mental, and logical challenges.

Each episode concludes with ‘The Duel’, a head-to-head game where the two lowest performers compete to avoid elimination. To avoid scheduling conflicts with Strictly Come Dancing, the broadcast schedule has been adjusted to air on Saturdays and Sundays for the first two weeks before moving to a Sunday-only format.

Reports indicate the series has undergone scheduling and editing changes. Originally intended for an earlier release with varying episode lengths, the show has been rescheduled to autumn and re-edited into 75-minute and 60-minute episodes.
