ITV reportedly to axe ‘The Chase Around The World’ after one series

ITV is reportedly planning to cancel the game show spin-off ‘The Chase Around The World’ after only one series. The six-episode program, which aired in July and August, featured pairs of contestants traveling globally to locate the Chasers and answer quiz questions.

Reports suggest the series failed to meet expectations, with viewership numbers dropping to 1.2 million, compared to the 1.6 million viewers typically seen for regular teatime episodes of the original series. Critics and sources have noted that the format deviated too far from the successful studio-based quiz, with host Bradley Walsh being reduced to a voiceover role and the Chasers receiving minimal screen time.

While some sources claim the decision to end the show has already been made due to poor performance and behind-the-scenes embarrassment, an ITV spokesperson stated that discussions regarding a potential recommission are still ongoing.
