ITV has announced schedule changes for its weekday evening “power hour,” resulting in the removal of Emmerdale and Coronation Street from the broadcast on Wednesday, September 16.

The disruption is due to live coverage of the EFL Carabao Cup, featuring a third-round match between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. The football broadcast is scheduled to air from 7:30pm to 10:25pm.

Regular programming for the soaps will resume the following day, with Emmerdale returning on Thursday at 8:00pm and Coronation Street airing at 8:30pm.
