IU Indianapolis prepares to open James T. Morris Arena this fall

The James T. Morris Arena at IU Indianapolis is on track to open this fall. The $110 million facility, which broke ground in February 2025, is designed to serve as a state-of-the-art venue for basketball and volleyball.

Director of Athletics Luke Bosso described the arena as a “gamechanger” that will eliminate previous barriers by providing an on-campus venue for recruiting and competition. The arena will feature 4,200 seats arranged in 19 rows to provide intimate sight lines. In addition to courts, the facility will include locker rooms, training facilities, offices, and space for USA Track and Field.
