Iuav University hosts conference on healthcare architecture

At a conference organized by the Master in Architecture and Health at Iuav University of Venice, experts discussed the intersection of architectural design and healthcare quality. The event, titled ‘Architecture and Health in Dialogue: New Paradigms of Project for Healthcare’, brought together academics, regional health officials, and representatives from the Ministry of Health.

Participants emphasized the importance of integrating design and clinical practice to create more efficient and welcoming healthcare environments. Massimiliano De Martin, CEO, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical role that physical spaces play in psychological and physical well-being. Discussions also touched upon the historical healthcare role of Venice, including developments at the Lido and the islands of San Servolo and San Clemente.
