Iurie Radulov extradited from Turkey to Moldova

Iurie Radulov has been extradited from Turkey to the Republic of Moldova and incarcerated in Chișinău's Penitentiary No. 13. The extradition allows him to continue serving a life sentence for ten murders committed by order and 11 attempted murders.

The legal process began in May 2025 after Moldovan authorities confirmed Radulov was in Turkey. Following his detention in Istanbul on October 5, 2026, the Moldovan Ministry of Justice coordinated with Turkish authorities, including the Turkish Intelligence Agency (MIT), the Istanbul Police, and INTERPOL, to facilitate his return.

His re-incarceration follows a decision by the North Court of Appeal on April 10, 2025, which overturned a previous ruling and mandated the execution of his life sentence. The operation involved several Moldovan institutions, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Administration of Penitentiaries.
