Iva Janžurová receives Zlatá korouhev award in Slavonice
Actress Iva Janžurová has been awarded the ‘Zlatá korouhev’ (Golden Rind) at the Slavonice film festival for her extraordinary contribution to Czech cinematography. The award was presented to her by her daughter, Sabina Remundová, in a ceremony at the Spolkový dům.
Festival organizer Milan Mrázek described the standing ovation from the capacity crowd as one of the most powerful moments of this year's edition. Janžurová, who is celebrating a jubilee year, accepted the award with her characteristic perspective. The event also included a screening of her significant films, including ‘Morgiana’, ‘Kočár do Vídně’, and ‘Petrolejové lampy’.
