Iva Janžurová reunites with director Jan Hřebejk for new series

Czech actress Iva Janžurová has reunited with director Jan Hřebejk for the nine-part series ‘Na tělo’ after nearly thirty years. Their previous professional encounter failed to materialize when Janžurová attempted to negotiate script changes for the film ‘Pelíšky’ to extend her character's screen time.

In the new series, Janžurová plays Mrs. Sobová, the mother of Libor. Despite her retirement, the 84-year-old actress remains active in the industry, recently performing at the National Theatre on her birthday.

Janžurová continues to live in a multi-generational villa in the Strašnice district of Prague. She resides on the ground floor of the home she shares with her daughters, Sabina and Theodora, a living arrangement designed to provide her with independence while ensuring family support is nearby.
