IVAM in Valencia unveils popular children’s light exhibit and traveling craft show
The Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) reported that its free children’s activity “El rincón de luz y color” attracted more than 3,200 visitors in July. Designed for children aged 0‑4, the sensory space lets youngsters explore light, colour and shadows through interactive devices and includes a projection of Ruth Gómez’s animation “Suimenka”, originally created for Spain’s pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025.
In parallel, IVAM is presenting the exhibition “A media lumbre”, curated by director Blanca de la Torre. The show highlights traditional crafts and natural materials such as ceramics, wool, palm and textiles, treating them as living heritage. Part of the Biennial B, the exhibition will travel to Mallorca’s Es Baluard Museu, Sa Refinadora and Casal Solleric, and later to the CDAN in Huesca and the Museu Terra de L’Espluga de Francolí in Tarragona, featuring works by artists including Ricardo Calero and Cecilia Vicuña.
