Ugandan football sees Kawempe win and Ahimbisibwe return to KCCA

In Ugandan football, several key developments have occurred regarding league starts and player transfers. Defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC began their FUFA Women Super League title defense with a 3-0 victory over newcomers Jinja United WFC at St Mary’s Stadium. Goals from Latifah Nakasi and Belinda Nabawanuka, alongside an own goal, secured the win. The match also marked the competitive return of Shakirah Nyinagahirwa following a long injury layoff.

In the men's league, striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe has officially rejoined KCCA FC on a two-and-a-half-year contract. This move comes just 35 days after his departure for Iraqi side Zhako SC. The contract termination in Iraq reportedly stemmed from the club's failure to meet agreed terms. Despite interest and a reported superior financial offer from Vipers SC, Ahimbisibwe chose to return to KCCA FC, a decision influenced by his relationship with head coach Brian Ssenyondo and his international ambitions.
