Ivan Chunnett completes 103-mile North Downs Way 100

Farnham resident Ivan Chunnett completed the North Downs Way 100, a 103-mile ultra-distance race organized by Centurion Running. The course begins in Farnham and traverses challenging terrain across Surrey and Kent, ending in Ashford.

After 18 months of preparation, Chunnett finished the race in 23 hours, 53 minutes, and 51 seconds. This time allowed him to earn the ‘One Day buckle’ awarded to runners who complete the course within a 24-hour window. Despite starting in 99th position, he climbed to 43rd place overall.

The event featured difficult conditions, including summer heat and technical trails such as Box Hill. Out of 250 entrants, only 136 runners finished within the 30-hour cut-off time.
