Ivan Ivanović takes over Hong Kong basketball team Flying Eagles

Montenegrin basketball coach Ivan Ivanović has taken over the Flying Eagles, a first-division team in Hong Kong. This move follows his three-season tenure in Finland, where he served as both an assistant and head coach for Korihait, leading them to a third-place finish in the Finnish league.

Ivanović described the move as a significant step and a challenge, noting that both the club and the league were previously unknown to him. His primary objective for the upcoming season is to lead the team into the playoffs, as the club failed to qualify for the top four last season.

The Hong Kong league consists of ten teams, with Ivanović noting the high quality of several clubs. He also highlighted the team's recruitment of Lithuanian player Mindaugas Kupšas, an experienced veteran of Asian basketball, to bolster the roster.
