Ivan Jennings jailed for encouraging terrorism and targeting migrants
Ivan Jennings, a 46-year-old father of four from Stafford, has been sentenced to five years and three months in prison at Leicester Crown Court. He received an additional five years on an extended licence after pleading guilty to encouraging terrorism and disseminating a terrorism publication.
Between August and November 2024, Jennings was an active participant in at least seven extreme right-wing groups on Telegram, including the organization Patriotic Alternative. During this period, he made numerous posts calling for the killing of hundreds of migrants, whom he referred to as ‘subhumans’. He stated that such killings were ‘justified and actually needed’ because he believed the country was at war.
Court proceedings revealed that Jennings discussed poisoning Jews and Muslims with mushrooms and identified a Pakistani independence day celebration in Manchester as a potential target. He also conducted online searches for motorboat chartering services in Dover and commented on the need for boats to ‘take out the dinghy divers’ to stop the influx of migrants. Additionally, he disseminated the manifesto of Norwegian neo-Nazi mass murderer Anders Breivik.
