Ivan Lira sworn in as federal judge of TRF5

Ivan Lira has been sworn in as a federal judge of the Regional Federal Court of the 5th Region (TRF5). The solemn ceremony took place on Monday, August 17, and was presided over by the president of the TRF5, federal judge Roberto Machado.

Lira was promoted based on merit to fill a vacancy created by Law No. 15.393/2026, which expanded the court's composition. Although he had previously taken administrative office on July 8, this ceremony marked his formal induction into the court.

The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Superior Court of Justice (STJ) ministers Gurgel de Faria and Ribeiro Dantas, and the Governor of Rio Grande do Norte, Fátima Bezerra. Other attendees included federal judges, representatives from the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), the Brazilian Air Force, and members of the legal profession.
