Ivan Marconi graduates with honors from University of Palermo

Former Palermo defender Ivan Marconi became the first player from the club to earn a university degree, graduating in Scienze delle attività motorie e sportive with 110/110 cum laude. He defended a thesis titled “Allenamento neuromuscolare durante la stagione agonistica nel calciatore in età puberale precoce”. The ceremony was held at building 19 of the University of Palermo’s Cittadella.

Rector Massimo Midiri highlighted the graduation as “a very important day” and an example for young athletes, while Palermo FC president Dario Mirri praised Marconi’s “integrità morale e coraggio” and stressed the role of culture and education in sport. The achievement was made possible by a joint programme between the university and Palermo FC that offers flexible study arrangements for student‑athletes, a system that currently supports 907 students.

Marconi thanked both the university and the club, saying the experience will open new opportunities for his future.
