Ivan Toney charged with assault after alleged London nightclub incident

England international footballer Ivan Toney has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The charge follows an investigation by the Metropolitan Police into an incident that allegedly occurred on December 6, 2025, at a nightclub on Wardour Street in Soho, central London.

The incident reportedly involved Toney allegedly headbutting an individual after a confrontation began when a person attempted to take a photograph with him. Toney, 30, currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli and recently represented England at the 2026 World Cup.

A spokesperson for Toney stated that the player "acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court." Toney is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 24, 2026.
