Ivan Turudić and Berislav Živković: From courts to the battlefield

A new series examines prominent figures in the Croatian judicial system who served as volunteers during the Homeland War. The series highlights how legal professionals transitioned from courtrooms to the battlefield to defend the country.

Ivan Turudić, currently the State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia, served as a volunteer in the National Guard (ZNG) starting in 1991. While working as a judge in Virovitica, he joined the 127th Virovitica Brigade and served on the Western Slavonian front until mid-1992.

Lawyer Berislav Živković is also featured, having joined the Zagreb-Drniš volunteer platoon in November 1991 as part of the 4th battalion.
