Ivan Viripagef's 'I-ONE' World Premiere at Ancient Epidaurus Theatre

The Athens & Epidaurus Festival will stage the world premiere of Ivan Viripagef’s new play I‑ONE on 7‑8 August 2026 in the Small Theatre of the Ancient Epidaurus site. Directed by Galin Stoev, the production follows a 21st‑century Medea‑type woman in 2050 America who murders her step‑son and his French educator lover, then faces a choice between prison or an experimental AI‑driven neuro‑treatment called I‑ONE. The cast features an international trio – Greek actress Sofia Kokkali, Polish actress Karolina Rzepa and Australian actress Antigone Duchesne. In addition to the performances, Viripagef will hold a masterclass on 8 August titled “The Human and Technological Substrate: Constructing Identity in Contemporary Theatre” at the Municipal School of Ancient Epidaurus.
