Ivana Bianchi receives Wolfgang Metzger Prize for perception research

Ivana Bianchi, a professor at the University of Macerata, has been awarded the prestigious Wolfgang Metzger Prize for her research in the field of perception. The award was presented on September 16 at the Humboldt University of Berlin by the Society for Gestalt Theory and its Applications.

Bianchi shared the recognition with Roberto Burro, a professor from the University of Verona. The two were honored for their experimental phenomenology research regarding the perception of similarity, difference, and opposition.

The prize is named after Wolfgang Metzger, a prominent figure of the second generation of the Berlin Gestalt School and a student of Max Wertheimer. Since its establishment in 1987, the award has been granted to several leading international researchers in the field.
