Ivanka pri Dunaji shooting trial reaches closing arguments

Closing arguments have been presented at the Bratislava I City Court regarding a fatal shooting that occurred in Ivanka pri Dunaji last March. The case involves a conflict between two men that resulted in one individual sustaining a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Prosecutor Soňa Juríčková has requested that the defendant, František B., be found guilty of particularly serious murder. She is seeking an unconditional prison sentence of 16 to 18 years with maximum security, along with protective supervision and the seizure of the defendant's vehicle. The victim's wife, son, and daughter are seeking 250,000 euros each in non-material damages.

In defense, attorney Jaroslav Plunár has requested the acquittal of František B., arguing that the prosecution failed to prove culpability. The defense maintains that the defendant was acting in self-defense to repel an attack and that the incident did not occur as described in the indictment. The court is expected to deliver its verdict on September 17.
